Soothe Mat · The honest calm-dog brand
A calming lick mat for dogs who just can't settle
The pacing, the whining at the window, the shadow that follows you from room to room, the chewing when you are gone. Licking is one of the natural ways dogs calm themselves, so we built a simple, drug free ritual around it: the Calm Goodbye. Spread on a little peanut butter, freeze it, and hand it over as you leave, so your dog settles on their own.

Free shipping · 30-night money-back promise
No pills, no shock collars, no miracle claims. If it does not help your dog settle, keep the mat and we'll refund you. That's our 30-Night Calm-Dog Promise.

What we believe
Calm comes from ritual, not from pills, shock collars, or miracle claims.
Licking is one of the natural ways dogs settle themselves, so we built a simple daily ritual around it, and then wrote down everything we know to help you use it well. No fear mongering. No promises we can't keep. Just an honest little tool that helps your dog get through the moments you both dread.
For the dog who chews when they are stressed
Some dogs do not chew because they are bad. They chew because they are anxious and have nowhere to put it. A few calm minutes of licking gives that nervous energy somewhere to go.
Leave the house without the guilt
Fill it, freeze it, and hand it over as you head out. Your dog has something calming to focus on, so you can walk out the door without the knot in your stomach.
A drug free way to help them settle
Licking is how dogs calm themselves down: slow, repetitive, and focusing. No chews, no sprays, no drama. Just a natural way to help your dog wind down on their own.

The Calm Goodbye, in about 30 seconds
- 1
Spread. A little of something dog safe, peanut butter without xylitol, plain yogurt, or a spoon of pumpkin, into the fish shaped grooves.
- 2
Freeze. Pop it in the freezer so the licking lasts longer, turning a two minute snack into a slow, calming task.
- 3
Give. Hand it over at the hard moment, leaving for work, a storm, bath or vet time, and let the slow licking help your dog settle.
Every order comes with our free Calm Dog Playbook, our full recipe and ritual guide.
No hype. On purpose.
No pills, no shock collars, no miracle claims. No $40 a month chews. No "cures your dog's anxiety" promises. Soothe Mat is a calming enrichment ritual, not a miracle. We would rather tell you the truth and earn your trust than oversell you.
Isn't this just a $10 lick mat?
Fair question. We started with a cheap flat mat too. Here's the honest difference, and why it actually changes the outcome.
| Basic $10 flat mat | Soothe Mat | |
|---|---|---|
| Surface | Shallow, flat ridges | Deeper scalloped fish-scale wells that hold more spread |
| How long it lasts | Licked clean in a couple of minutes | Freeze it and it becomes a slow, calming task, not a two-minute snack |
| What it is for | A quick snack | The Calm Goodbye, a repeatable ritual for the moments he can't settle |
| If it does not work | You are out the money | 30-Night keep-the-mat promise: keep the mat, get your money back |
| Extras | None | Free Calm Dog Playbook, drug free routines, with every order |
| Claims | "Calms anxiety!" | We won't promise a cure. It gives him one calm thing to focus on. |
We're not going to tell you a mat cures anxiety. What it does is give your dog a simple, drug free thing to focus on when he can't settle, and if it doesn't help in 30 nights, you keep it and we refund you.

A note from Jeff
Hi, I'm Jeff. I started Soothe Mat because I was tired of two things: watching dogs struggle at the moments that should be easy, and watching brands sell worried owners miracle cures and $40 monthly chews.
So I built the opposite. A simple, drug free ritual, honest about what it can and can't do, backed by a promise that actually means something. If it doesn't help your dog settle, keep the mat and I'll refund you. That's the whole deal.
Calmer dogs, quieter days.
Jeff, founder
Why a fish?
The shape isn't a gimmick. The scales and grooves hold food in a way that stretches the licking out, and it's how you'll spot a Soothe Mat in a sea of plain round bowls. Blue, green, or gray.

Questions
Will my dog actually use it?
Most dogs take to it quickly once there is a smear of something tasty on it. Licking is instinctive, the food just invites them in. Freeze it and it holds their attention even longer.
Will this stop my dog's anxiety?
It is not a cure, and we will not pretend it is. It is a calming tool many owners reach for to help their dog settle in the tough moments: at the door, during storms, before the vet. Drug free, and you can use it as often as you like.
Is the silicone safe?
Yes. It is made of food grade silicone and it is dishwasher safe. Rinse it or pop it in the top rack.
What do I put on it?
Any dog safe spread: peanut butter without xylitol, wet food, plain yogurt, or a little pumpkin. It also slows down fast eaters at mealtime.
Where do I use it?
Lay it flat on the floor where your dog eats. Great during alone time and storms at home, or before a trip to the groomer or vet.
Always supervise your dog with any new item and use dog safe toppings only. This is an enrichment tool, not a medical device, and is not a substitute for veterinary care.
